Stan Sprinkle
Copper Mountain has been the Sprinkle family's second home since the early 1980's. My wife, Sandi, and I own a condominium at Anaconda Condominium Association and Copper Springs Lodge Condo Association. Our children and grandchildren learned to ski at Copper and the family also spent considerable time at Copper in the summer to enjoy its weather and the beautiful mountains.
The Sprinkle primary home is in Greenwood Village, a Denver suburb. I graduated from the University of Iowa and am a CPA. I was a partner at KPMG and retired from the Denver office after 30 years at which time two of my sons and I started a CPA firm and a Registered Investment Advisor firm which are in Littleton, Colorado. I have served on various Denver non-profit boards. I have been privileged to serve the Copper community as a board member of the Copper Mountain Metropolitan District, former board member of POLA, the Copper Mountain master homeowners association, current board member of the Anaconda homeowner association and former board member of the Copper Springs Lodge homeowner association. I have seen substantial improvements at Copper for forty plus years which have provided businesses, residential property owners and visitors with an improving community experience.
The Metro District over the past several years has been restructuring its services and how it serves the Copper community. It has enhanced fire protection and EMS service through the transfer of new fire equipment and firefighters by participating in the establishment of the new SFE Fire & EMS District. More than ever with all the Colorado wildfires Copper is fortunate that SFE established a separate Wildland Fire Division which serves Copper. The enhanced fire and EMS service has been achieved at an overall cost reduction to the Copper community. The district also recently transferred the operation of and delivery of TV and Internet services through a long-term lease with a private company, Vero. This has greatly enhanced internet and TV reception through the installation of new fiber optic wiring throughout Copper and to all properties and businesses requesting internet and TV services. The offloading of these services also substantially reduced the District's need to make a large investment in current and future capital funds. In 2024 the District started a multi-million-dollar capital project to be completed in 2026 to make major improvements to its aging water and sewer plant. The improvements also include long overdue employee safety features. In 2025 the District is bringing connectivity of East Village to Center Village by contracting for the installation of a new sidewalk located between the golf course and the shark lane.
For many years, before becoming a Board member of the Metro District, I attended the Metro District monthly board of director meetings as an interested homeowner. This enabled me to gain a full understanding of the services being provided and the financial aspects of providing the community services. With my financial background as a CPA, I have worked with the other Board members to maximize community services within the confines of available financial resources to enable the District to operate at a tax level lower than permitted by Colorado law which the Colorado Legislature is constantly changing.
I would like to continue to serve as a Board member of the Metro District, which is the center of the Copper Mountain community governance and as it advances high-quality services and enhances community assets. I would appreciate your vote on election day, Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
